The series explores the early cycle of Pennywise’s terror, decades before the events of the films. It shows how the evil entity awakens, feeds on fear, and manipulates the townspeople. Alongside the supernatural horror, the show also highlights the struggles of Black families and other marginalized groups living in America during the 1960s.
As the mystery deepens, the characters must confront not only the monster lurking in the sewers but also the social divisions and prejudices of their time. The blend of real-world issues and supernatural horror makes the story both frightening and thought-provoking.
